The core ... what is it exactly? It sounds much like a
'buzz word' but in actual fact it is a critical component of our physiology that needs to be considered when we are
training, walking, running or even just sitting.
It is often referred to as our power centre, the centre of
our body through which power from the lower body is transmitted to the upper
body.
The primary muscles that constitute the core include the
abdominal muscles (which are actually a complex of 4 integrated muscles), hips, hamstrings. lower back and mid back
muscles.
Positive Image integrates core training into almost every
aspect of training, regardless of what program you are participating in but specific core training programs are
established.
A variety of training tools and techniques are used that
include just your own body positioning to specialized equipment including BOSU® balls, balance boards, exercise
tubing, stability balls etc.
Check the 'Rates' section for what the cost would be, although most core training is part
of a more complete program.
